Last night, Annie gave a first spin to Atlanta wunderkind, Raury's new track 'Friends', taken from his just-announced debut full-length, All We Need, and if ever there was an example of her hitting the 'hot' brief this is it. Featuring Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, 'Friends' feels like a notable shift in gear from Raury's Indigo Child mixtape of last year, with a slightly dreamier tone to his melodies counterweighted by Morello's (who Raury idolises, even mimicking him on Guitar Hero) signature chunky riffs. If he keeps this high standard up, his debut record could be truly brilliant. - DC
